Travel, Art Friends and Awards

As some of you may already be aware, we, husband, and doggo are currently on a caravan holiday - visiting family in South Australia and touring parts of Victoria.

By chance, when visiting the Old Auction House in Kyneton, in the Macedon Ranges, for art supplies and to see the works in the gallery, I bumped into exhibiting artist and social media "friend" Samantha Gardiner  @samanthagardiuner_art , what a memorable occasion this became. It was so lovely to actually meet Sam and to see her works in real life!   

And then this week I received some exciting news  - I entered an art competition, hosted by Teravana Online Gallery - and received an Honorable Mention for my piece Inflorescence! Acknowledgement is so good for the soul.

Travel is such a great idea generator - I cant wait to get back into my studio and put some of these ideas down on canvas, some bigger works, acrylic and mixed media and collage. Watercolour and pen is great for the caravan  - I have been creating postcard art and journal covers.....and have had some notebooks professionally printed with some of my original artworks - I cant wait to receive this from the printer!  It's amazing what you can create and achieve when travelling, most days I find time to create.
