Its summer time in Australia. It's also school holidays and Christmas/New Year  public holidays, that means a lot of time to enjoy and explore  the beautiful region that I live in. This piece was inspired by a trip to Busselton Jetty. The "jetty" has it all, a underwater viewing platform, beaches, grassed areas, cafes and restaurants, a little train to take you fro a scenic ride...kids play grounds. 

New Years Day At the Beach aka Busselton Jetty is painted in the style of the well known Australian Artist - Ken Done. It is colourful, loose and child like and explore the "feeling of the jetty".  However, I use sgraffito, it's a favourite style of mine to use , I haven't noticed Ken Done use this.
